The sailing area covers the northern part of the Ionian Sea in Greece. On the one hand you have Corfu: The greenest island of Greece with ancient villages, nice beaches and cosy marinas. On the other hand is the Greek mainland with rough mountains and numerous bays for perfect anchoring. In general not many tourist visit this region from “ashore”, you will definitely experience the authentic Greek atmosphere in most fishing villages. In between is the forever blue Ionian Sea, characterized by modest winds and beautiful islands like the Mourtos/Sivota archipelago, Paxos and Anti-Paxos.
Sailing between Corfu and the Greek mainland
The sailing area comes with a delightful peace and quietness. It is well protected, yet gives the feeling of wide and open waters. At sea you only encounter a few other boats. It is safe and adventurous at the same time. Not bothered by the fall winds between the islands, you can comfortably do long reaches of easy sailing. Each day will offer a view of a new coast. This cruising area is excellent for sailing with children.
